Deep Earrings With Amethyst Stone. Amethyst is the finest variety of quartz, with a characteristic purple color, with the most intense and lively shades, up to almost pink. It is widely used in jewelry and, a long time ago, when its value was still high, it was also much imitated with colored glass; synthetic amethyst is currently produced mainly for technical uses.
Its name derives from the Greek “a-methystos” which means “not drunk”; in fact it was thought that this stone preserved from drunkenness.
